My guineas are about nine months old and I've have them for seven months. When I got them it was pretty quickly established Ganon was the dominant pig. Now that they're almost fully grown, Dibbler has been acting more defiant toward Ganon lately.

One example is food stealing. When Dibbler finished his veggies, he's been trying to go after whatever Ganon has left in his own separate bowl. He sometimes tries to steal food out of Ganon's mouth, and most prominently, he's started mounting Ganon from behind and nibbling on Ganon's back fur.

Should I be concerned about this behavior, or is a power shift normal for boars to go through? Through genes or getting chubbier (or both), Dibbler is a bit bigger than Ganon now. Ganon has always growled at Dibbler, which is nothing new, and the only retaliation Ganon's offered so far is nipping (not biting). Should I be worried that a fight might break out between them? Dibbler has been backing off when Ganon nips, but I'm worried how cocky Dibbler may continue to get.

As I said, they're 9 months old. Their cage is an extra large rabbit hutch, and there is two of everything. Ganon's food dish is even on the second level (a small ledge) while Dibler's is on the cage floor. Dibbler likes to inhale his food and then jump up to the ledge to try and steal whatever Ganon has left.

Sorry missed that, tired and reading on small screen :)) apologies. Really sounds like boarly hormones as they have reached teenage years, I would keep a close eye ,but apart from watching and waiting very little you can do. If you ever see a fight and it is blood drawn or serious flying at each other then please seperate, but hopefully it won't come to this,

Sounds like typical teenage behaviour to me!
You can find more information of the various phases during the hormonal teenage months in here. The time around9 months is one of the more difficult phases where boys are pushing the limits, but thankfully they do not fall out so much at this stage although it can be iffy for a few a weeks!

Thanks for the replies everyone! :) Ganon's always been the naughty pig which I'm used to (and love!) Dibbler is only recently becoming a bit of a jerk, and I can never help but worry for the little runts.

This is exactly what's happening between my boys two boys right now! My Mo (ginger pig) has always been the dominant member but now Steve (white pig) is rumbling (he looks so silly when he does this!) And running to get behind Mo to try and mount or he nips him. Mo just spins to get away and nearly always ends up mounting Steve. It's stressful to watch but I'm waiting it out.
