Hi TGPF!

Just a curiosity this time around - Our youngest boar, Joey, recently went to a corner of their floor cage, and sort-of hunched over, started pulsing his behind, and bent over and started to clean himself downstairs - After a period of his behind being up in the air, he then began to shake, a bit like a popcorn or like an orgasm - What I'm curious about is what are the tell-tale signs of a boar preparing to ejaculate? And how can we be sure that he did actually ejaculate, and that there's no other cause?

As a keeper if boars I am quite curious now as I have noticed mine have their testicles descend, is it common for piggies to masturbate?

Hopefully this isn’t a taboo question. I am genuinely Curious as I have heard of the difficulties of boar glue when set on fur.

Cleaning himself down there he could also have just been reaching for one of his poops for a second go around the digestive system.

Some boars are humpy beasts, some aren’t. It just depends. You can find boar glue almost anywhere - on their cage wares, beds, their cage mates and even on their own noses...... The first time you find it, you’ll understand why it’s referred to as boar glue. Sets like concrete.

Boar glue is usually all the evidence you’ll need of the event.
True! However in this instance - and excuse the grossness - but we think he may have ate it all up. He was licking the sheet under himself as well, ontop of grooming himself - His brother Bluebear also decided to come over and have a sniff since he smelled something different. It's an odd world! We just wanted to ask because we're unsure if it is that, or if he was straining to poop.

Benito and his little bald spot just above his nose would like to confirm that boar glue does indeed set like concrete :)) :))

I think even if they did that there would still be a residue left, it’s very obvious when it happens! You could also check his fur on the inside of his legs or around his bits as some normally gets stuck round there!

This sounds more like Joey was passing a caecotroph (hope that's how it's spelt). A couple of my boys make quite a dance out of shaking one down before bending back to eat it!
I agree if it was boar glue you would find some evidence, we have quite a collection of fleece and beds with it on. We've also had it on legs, noses, chins and mouths!

My boars are definitely becoming men, one piggy was humping the other and there was a semen rod in cage later hardened. First time seeing that. I picked up the piggy and he was a little messy down there so gave him a wipe! He has such large grapefruits already. I guess his hormones are picking up now
