Underweight piggy

@Merab's Slave @Bill & Ted @dannif_piggies Thankyouu!☺️
He’s at the vets at 4;10 and he’s put some more weight on I’m superduper happy with him😊
He weighed just under 600g so very very underweight and now he’s nearly 700g so I know he can put the weight on. Still a long way to go for him but I know he will do it.

Glad to hear that. Your syringe feeding him is working.
Hoping he will start to eat more for himself and need less help from you.

Let us know what the vet says

@Merab's Slave he LOVES syringe feeding he chews it thinking that’s how it comes out and then will try and get into the bowl where the food is, he’s getting back too his own self again now :) I fell asleep earlier by accident when he was on my bed eating, I woke up to him snuggled into me. I’m so proud of him :)

And the vet was proud of him too, he didn’t think he would have put 100g on so he’s been a show off. He will go back for a check up in the next week or so but overall it’s looking good.
So thankyou to everyone who helped me ☺️

It's what we are all here for to help each other. I may have been silent but I've been following this thread and didn't think there was anything else to add to what everyone else was saying!

@flintstones ive started doing it and it’s going well I just have to tap his mouth with the syringe and he opens his mouth so I’m having no trouble at the moment. So we will see how it goes. And I'm based in high green

@Skypipdot hes highly rated round my area, he said it was because there was food still in his mouth so he couldn’t see. Hopefully this syringing will help put weight on and he can see properly.

When I had a piggy with dental issues, my vet gave him a slight sedation so she could clean his mouth out and check his back teeth. He too had lost a lot of weight

@Merab's Slave he is bless him, he’s back to his adventurous self and eating a lot better, he has a mixture of syringe and veg so he’s a happy little piggy

I have some sad news :( he has lost weight again and is back to just under 600g. He doesn’t look it and feel it but according to the scales he has. He’s eating his food as normal and isn’t leaving anything. I’m so confused 🤷🏼‍♀️ 😔 x

I'm so sorry to hear this, Ive recently had problems with Honwya weight and loosing it for no reason, I don't want to say I've found a miracle product, but I certainly would recommend from my experience and suggest to try Pro-C probiotic... it's about £5 from PAH X

I will go and buy some tomorrow thankyou :) x

His eye has started to get crusty too

@Merab's Slave @Gem789 in sorry to have to say but I think it’s time for nut to go to piggy heaven later today. Over night he has gone from 600g to just above 400g and he’s gone “wonky” his head is a little to the right and is very wobbly when walking. I’m taking him to the vets later on tonight but I think we all know the outcome :( I’ve tried my best but I think he’s given up the fight

Oh bless you, I’m very sorry to hear this x

We tried our best, so thankyou to everyone who gave me advice :) x

I am so sorry that Nut has come to this after all your care and work for him.
You gave him a great life and allowing him to go is the last gift of love we can give.
Look after yourself and be gentle with yourself as you grieve.

I will try my best it’s just difficult🙈 to say they are only small animals they have a big hold on you x Thankyou for your help @Merab's Slave

Oh I'm so sorry to hear that you may have to help little Nut over the Rainbow Bridge. It is a difficult decision to have to make.
