I was cleaning my room when all of a sudden I hear Chorizo squeal in pain and run out the hidie house, which he was inside with Tiny.
And now that I take a closer look I found out he has a nasty scab and a missing patch of hair;( I feel so bad for him, he’s such a gentle guinea pig and I know he would never bite tiny, I thought they were getting along so well.
So I was wondering, do you guys think, was this from Tiny biting Chorizo or Chorizo has something wrong with him which caused a scab to form?
I made sure to separate them for now, but it seems Tiny keeps biting the divider because he wants to be with chorizo, but chorizo looks like he doesn’t mind being divided. What should I do should I take him the the vet or apply some cream, will it heal by itself?
I’m just so upset this happened I thought everything was going well:(
p.s Tiny is the White one with black spots on the both sides of his face.

That looks like the start of a fungal infection rather than a bite, luckily, so your boys should be fine to stay together :) a vet visit is still a good idea however as being that close to the eye creams arent really advised, an oral antifungal should be prescribed which should have him all fixed up in a few weeks. You'll want to give everything a good clean with a disinfectant that kills fungal spores such as f10.

Oh Thank you so much for answering fast:luv: I was worried a fight occurred, are you sure they can be together I wouldn’t want anything spreading to Tiny. Also would you know what the cause of it could’ve been?

You're welcome! As they've already been together then Tiny will already have been exposed to the fungal spores so at this point all you can do is keep checking him for signs. Fungal is often brought on by stress, if they are having issues with sharing their hidey then that may be just enough territorial stress to bring out an outbreak. Being stress related, separating a bonded pair can lead to the other one getting upset and breaking out too. Some vets advise treating both if one has it, but that depends on the vet.
They might appreciate another one of the hideys they were both wanting to sit in so they don't have to share, a lot of boar pairs like to have 2 of everything so they don't have to compete or share..they're a bit like toddlers haha!

Yes I agree, definitely fungal, perhaps Tiny accidentally knocked the sore patch which made Chorizo scream out in pain? I would get them back together too and keep a keen eye on them both

I’m sorry to keep asking questions but, once I get them to the vet, can I just put their fleece to wash like normal and the c&c cage? I don’t think I would be able to buy the spray you recommended.
