So the more I look into it the more I'm confused. Many cites say only feed carrot once or twice a week, or pumpkin once in a while, etc. PLZ could someone clarify phrases like once in a while and carrot. HOW MUCH IS CARROT!! Is it a really small amount or whole carrot or what!? And not just carrot but other foods! Help!

Anything high in sugar like those things I only feed twice a week max. My 5 pigs share a reasonably sized carrot once a week and potentially carrot peelings if they're going! :)

The best place to start with diet questions is this thread;
Long Term Balanced General And Special Needs Guinea Pig Diet

It offer a comprehensive guide (including pictures) on what and how much to feed your piggies.

Things that don't form part of their basic diet, I usually add once or twice a week.
For me sweet things like carrot and fruits fall into this category.
As to how much it really is up to you, but I always work on the principle of a small piece (the size of my little finger) per piggy.
So for example today I fed carrot (a carrot stick per pig) so on Thursday they might get some apple.
Of course they always have unlimited hay (at least 2 types) and regular fresh veg every morning, as well as pellets.

when I feed carrot i tend to half a carrot into a two inch piece of carrot then chop this into 4 strips for two pigs like a baton so two batons each. so like two carrot sticks you may see prepared at supermarkets

I feed carrot twice a week unless they have baby corn which they will get instead of carrot. For carrot they normally they get the peel from a whole carrot which is roughly 8 long peels which I hand feed them 4 each or sometimes 4 coins from the large side of the carrot cut in half. It actually doesn't add up to much carrot so I feel comfortable if I sneak them a small piece of apple as a treat occasionally.
