I dont have piggies but was reading through a thread and it said to fed unlimited pellets.
I know with my rabbits they shouldnt have unlimted pellets i feed 1 egg cup full aday.
Why do guinea pigs need unlimited pellets ?

It should be unlimited hay.
I give mine about a handful of food each a day which is round 25 grams

I have been told by my vet that with both rabbits and piggies you should only give them a certain amount of pellets and unlimited hay as hay is more important for their digestion. But now it is winter i've been giving my rabbit lots of food for her to use as energy to keep warm along with hay

The rule with guinea pigs is babies need unlimited pellets, and when theyre growth slows down it then needs to be limited to a handfull a day. :) (however my piggies would never eat that much anyway)

Or so i am told.

That's what I read too, but wondered what do I do as I have one adult piggy living with my two babies? She is having a great time tucking into the unlimited pellets lol :))

I wouldnt really know, I have two 12 month old piggies. I dont tend to weigh out what i give them, but i wouldnt say they eat more than a handfull each per day. with there veg, and yummi hay, the pellets are mainly ignored. :/
