I obviously don't advocate pigs being housed or having unlimited/unsupervised play time with any other species, but I was wondering if any of you have any sweet, unusual, or funny pig friendships?
In my case, I have a 3 year old rescue cat called Mochi. She's very timid, and suffers from extreme anxiety. She has no way of getting into the guinea pigs' enclosure, but she does like to watch them, and she's developed an odd little friendship with my oldest boar, Dale.
She sleeps in bed with me, and when I get up and go greet the boys, she follows me. For as long as I've had them both, Dale wheaks at her, and she chirps back in response. He often runs to greet her before me (through mesh, of course) and even the promise of veggies can't temp him away! I also find that if she's put in high stress situations (I have company over, fireworks, hoovering, etc) Mochi will slink upstairs and lie next to the enclosure. 9 times out of 10, Dale is lying against the other side of barricade, making small comforting sounds.
