Unusual Guineapig Movements

Yes, our vet is fantastic, he's helped a lot. He moved country so we had no idea he was back, this problem would've been taken to him last night at 3 am if I'd known.

Thoughts! The only thing that springs to mind is a spine stroke , fibro calagons embaliam ,

It is often fixable , by a vet that is prepared to think outsid the box

But as Adelle said vet asap,

Keep quiet and comfortable

Dave, do you mean fibrocartilaginous embolism? The piggy has already been seen by a vet.

Hi folks, bad news I'm afraid - after all of my and my family's best efforts, nibbles passed away in his sleep this evening. Absolutely devastated, never thought this would happen.

Going to have to spend 100x more time with barney now that his brother is gone, thanks for all of your support.

The vet could not figure out the problem after multiple visits. But! When we took him up yesterday he said he was getting better and that he didn't have to be put down, so we continued to tube feed him hourly. Guess the vet was wrong.

Very sorry to hear this. The problem with these little guys is they go down hill so fast. I'm guessing it would be hard for the vet to give a prognosis when he didnt have a diagnosis. Sorry again x

He gave us a prognosis based on the blatant physical appearance of him which I thought was atrocious, he took a look at him - without doing any tests and said it didn't look good.

This is probably the worst question I could possible ask and I hope none of you people have to. But, how shall I pay my respects, do I bury him? I don't know what to do and I'm not comfortable with this sort of thing..

So sorry for your loss. If you have a suitable area to bury him and you feel that is the way you want to do things then do so. Dig the hole at least 30 cm deep if not more. I wrap them in newspaper so it degrades well. If you have foxes in your area then put something heavy over the grave. I like to write a message to put in with them or one on the slab I cover it with. If you don't feel burying him is what you want to do I don't know if cremation is an option for you. In more spiritual things I like to draw or print out a picture of my piggie and write about them or make a scrapbook. All my thoughts are with you in this devastating time. Losing a pig is never easy and you were there for him right until the end. Rest in peace Nibbles. xx<3
