It seems that since November my little Isabella has had one thing after another. She had a hay poke injury to her eye that required antibiotics, next she had a cyst removed from her back and today we were up the vets because she had blood in her pee and it smelt so strong. He said she had a UTI. she has anti-inflammatory and antibiotics. :(

I'm sorry you and Isabella are having such a hard time! Hope she gets better soon

I know what you going through blood in poppy unrine and just got her feet better

I am very sorry! I hope that she recovers well! What meds is she on and what dosage?

She is on 0.37 ml Baytril and 0.2 Meloxidyl she is also having pro c in her drinking water which she loves and in the mornings a small amount of cranberry juice.

If you find that the baytril is impacting on her appetite, I would recommend to give a pinch of probiotics directly about 1-2 hours after the antibiotic. You need to change the water daily, or it will go off much more quickly.

I always change her water daily. She lives indoors can keep a strict eye on what she is eating drinking

She has the antibiotics once a day so I don't add the pro c to her water untill two hours after.

She is an excellent patient she takes everything from the syringe with ease except Baytril I have to wrap her like a mummy lol but she get a bit of her favourite cucumber after.

I come downstairs to the sound of Isabella eating her pellets :yahoo:. I left a small bowl in her house during the night because she had not eaten a lot and most of them had gone this morning, well either she has eaten them of my son got hungry during the night ;). Anyway while at the pet shop today I always stop and look at the guinea pigs a little girl was asking if her mum if she could have one, conversation went like this MUM: we will ask dad but they are not much work so he will let you. Me: sorry to interrupt all animals require work. are you prepared when they are ill to put in the time and effort to get them well again, give them daily handling and checks for lumps bumps etc and be prepared to pay for vets bills keep them clean and happy and not leave them in a cage alone for days on end. Mum: Did not think about all of that really, then she says to her girl, maybe not darling. The girl gave me the evil look but and least it might make the parents think a bit more.
