One of my pggies has diahorrea today (I suspect it is due to too much grass), he is very down in the dumps and refusing to eat anything.I have syringe fed him some dyoralite (sp), but does anyone have any other suggestions as he is still pooing. Thanks,

No veggies today and plenty of hay. Have you changed his/her diet recently other than the grass? As that can cause an upset tummy.

If it doesn't get better soon I would definitely take them to the vet to be checked over, as not eating can affect a guinea's weight so quickly.

Hope your piggie is better soon! :)

I would take pig to a vet in the morning if no better but yep no veggies just dried foods. He may need an antibiotic.

Arrowroot powder can be given syringe 1.5ml morning and night.

Also plenty of water and if pig isn't eating critical care or mashed up pellets.

Hope he is ok. :)

Leaving off the veggies for around 48 hours usually does the trick :)

I think probiotics can be helpful too, if diarrhea is caused by an inbalance in the gut flora.

You've been given some great advice re more hay and no veggies, i agree totally.
Just wanted to add lots of healing wheeeeeks for the little one xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
How's he today? I'd pop off to the vets as well. Good luck xxxxxxxxxxxx
