It was not my idea.

But the OH fell in love with two tiny girlies in P@H who were all alone in a cage. And they had been in there for weeks because we have been watching them for two weeks at least. People were coming in to have one, but the shop refused to sell them unless they went as a pair, which was good. And my OH was not leaving the store unless they were with him.

So we came home with two tiny girlies. They are adorable. Both sisters, one Rex and the other shorthair. Both are the same colour, and I am sure that they also have a satin gene as the shorthair has such a sheen to her coat.

They are currently in the pen in the living room, and having a mooch around. My OH bought not only the girlies, but toys as well. He spent £120 in total, so he was serious.

I have purchased a 2x2 C&C loft for the cage and I am looking in to cage liners, as they will be easier to deal with in that part of the cage rather than fight with the fleece. With the loft installed.

Just this past week we found ourselves up to six piggies, from two a year ago. Two herds (each with a boar and two sows), and they're perfect! Started with a Ferplast 120, and now have a 2x6 and 3x4 C&C.

I recommend you get a little step-stool or similar if your cage isn't on the floor; it makes dealing with the loft hassle a lot easier. I won't lie, it makes cleaning a bunch trickier but the pigs love it so much it's 100% worth it .

I demand pictures of your new ladies when they've settled in

They are currently squeaking in the pen. I have put the lid on (a mesh) so they feel more secure, especially as they have only been in there for two or so hours and the washing machine hasn't stopped. And the OH is still going through the boxed set of Frasier.

They are so small that each of them fits in to one hand.

Yay more piggies, can't wait for pic either.

Ps....how is Snowy

Snowy has turned in to the gentle giant of the herd. He loves licking my fingers and pan caking, and he's back in the vet a week today to check that the ringworm has gone. I am hoping that he will be neutered on the following Monday so I very well might be booking best week off work to look after him.

The new girls have changed names. They are Cutie (short haired) and Fudge (Rex). These are above.

Are they cute or what?

They are such a gorgeous pair I'm not surprised your OH didn't want to leave the shop without them.

They are both so tiny! I am thinking of holding off bonding them to my current girls until they are bigger. They are scared to death already, but there are plenty of signs that they have been eating and drinking and scurrying around when we are not looking.

What do you all think? Is there a particular size recommended for bonding? I know that they will go right to the bottom of the heirarchy. They weigh 425g each

They have a normal water bottle, but I also have a small dish in with them containing vitamin c for an added boost. And lots of hay.

Congratulations! Stunners
No size recommended for bonding, would let them settle a little longer for now then go for it. They have found the most perfect forever home x

Sweetie has flaky skin on one ear. I put F10 creme on it and it disappeared

Do piggies suffer with dry skin or could she have caught ringworm?

Now I'm concerned for all of my piggies!
