Hi All.
Well, I took Connie and Eliza back to the vets today and they have both been given a through examination including nail clipping. Eliza was a naughty girl though and bit the vet :red
Anyway, they both have a reddy / browny coloured wee but she and the specialist do not seem too concerned about it and think that this may just be their urine colour from now on. Both Eliza and Connie's urine was tested and spinned down and there is no blood or crystals which is excellent news especially in Connie's case.
The vet popped Connie on the floor and is much happier with her walking than she was this time last week. She is now back off the antibiotics. She seems to think that Connie may have a little Vitamin C deficiency so I am going to start to syringe dissolvable ones in to them as they didn't take kindly to the chewable ones.
Unfortunately, Connie is always going to be prone to bladder problems but the vet suggests that we just keep a close eye on her urine. She suggests that I take in a sample every month or so for it to be tested and then if more crystals form or anything, it can be caught in time before developing in to a stone.
It looks like Connie may just need a little more care and attention than another piggy.
I'm sure that the vet was rather kind as I expected it to cost a fortune but she only charged me £9.99 :o Good for the girls though as they have just been treated to a new hutch
xx
