Had a phone call from the vets and it doesnt look good. He has a large tumour on his bladder which they cannot operate on. It's really upsetting, but i think the decision has been made for me on this one. They said theres nothing they can do and I would hate to think that he was in pain. Its not the result I was expecting or hoping for :( Hes had a long and happy life
 
As you said he has had a long and happy life with you and no one wants to be in pain. I am so sorry to hear about your news, hard as it is try to think of all the joy you brought to each other and know that you are doing the best thing for him.

Results and decisions like these are always so upsetting. You are doing the right thing to spare Jake any further suffering; sometimes that is the only gift we can give our loved ones.
 
Thanks for all your kind messages. We just had Jake PTS. So we have brought him home now to bury him with his brother.

Aww, I am very sad to hear this news. I really feel for you and for poor little Jakey. RIP lovely boy with your brother, you are not in pain anymore.

Thanks for all your kind messages. I'm really struggling to come to terms with this. I just miss him so much, he was such a little character, I cant believe how quickly he went downhill. Noone seems to understand how upset I am about this I just cant think of anything positive at all. Please tell me things will get easier.
