here is the link of Jenson who was rescued from a pet shop last year who was soooo cruelty treated, with 3 broken legs, teeth down his throat, and sooo very thin, he was left like this for 4 mths, here is the thread about him

http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=50660

there is pictures on page 2 of the above thread of how he was when he came in !

Jenson went to a lovely friend called Paul (Alcesterpigs) who has done a fab job with him, thanks to his hard work Jenson is a happy popcorny little boar.

Wow he looks amazing now. So pleased for him and well done AP.

I hadn't seen the before photos, but my, when I saw him at Pauls he wouldn't STOP popcorning :) Bouning around in the hay and asking for treats :)

aww how horrible that he was able to get like this in the first place, he is beautiful.

Enjoy the rest of your life Jenson you deserve it.

well done xxxxxxxxx

Jenson needed dentals every 3 days at first and this is why a GA wouldnt have been good for Jenson he wouldnt have survived :( but with Paul been trainned in guinea teeth forover 20yrs he was able to do this with out GA Jenson rarely needs dentals now, thanks to the work Paul has done, you can see in this picture how bad his teeth were.

and now his teeth and jaw look like any normal guinea pig with out dental problems x

aww thats so sad, but happy that he came out of it, sorry if i missed it but how old is he? he looked more like a donkey than a gp with those teeth.

Paul thinks he was around 9mths old when he came in the rescue so around 15mths old now, but he weighed 463g when he came in aged 9mths old:o

hopefully he will have a long time to enjoy himself now then eh. He is really lovely.

Pet shops are just unbelievable sometimes :( did they just get away with this cruelty?

nothing could be done as they would deny they had the guinea pig :(

it was a hard thing at the time as it was do we report it 1, knowing they would deny it as we didnt have proof they had it for so long, 2, they also breed snakes, 3, they get many preg guineas come in to their pet shop, 4, they would never use a rescue again so what would happen to the needy guineas? snake food, i think the main thing was we did kick off on them about it, so they know it wasnt on, but we were more worried and glad Jenson got out of their.

and I'm pleased to see they dont have as many guineas in anymore.

it was hard i mean what can you do or the RSPCA what warn them or take the pet licenece off them but the chances of that are nil with out solid proof other than Jenson :(.

yeah i know, there is a man with a small holding in the field behind where i work and he has a ferret, 3 dogs and chickens etc, but a few years ago he had about 20 dogs and they only got let out twice a day and were kept locked up in two sheds one of which was metal and must have been sweltering in the summer. We also witnessed him kicking the dogs, pulling them by the ears and all sorts, the number of times we got in touch with the RSPCA is unreal and every time it was the same thing, the dogs are fed and none of them were ill, they couldnt do anything. We werent even allowed to video him to catch him hurting the animals as it would invade his privacy grrr

i understand you cant just jump in there etc, but its so hard to watch animals suffer when you just want to help them and nothing can be done even by the powers that be, the amount of times we heard the dogs crying in pain and the way he used to shout at them...and the worst thing of all...they all adored him. Going back to the ferret, i have worked in this office since 2002, last week is the first time i have seen him clean the ferret out....now I'm not saying he never does...but i look out at the animals a lot!

:(

Aww, he looks sooo much better! I'm so happy for him. It's a shame you can't really get the pet shop shut down for animal cruelty. I'm glad Jenson is well loved and being treated well now. He must be so happy :)
Well done to you, Paul and everyone involved for getting him well again! x>>

It is like that in a Pet Shop nearby they are over run with birds in 2 seperate avarys which have no room.
I feel so sorry for all the quails who are lacking very much in feathers, I did ask about it once but he said they had been to the vets. They had a quail before with a broken wing. The roborovski hamsters have really bad wheels which have gaps in them resulting in them possibly breaking their legs and no sand for them to bathe in. The cages for the rodents do not look as if they are cleaned out frequently, infact, the cages for the majority of the animals. There was a poor rat with one eye due to fighting by the looks of it. There are to many animals and only 1 staff. They breed way to many animals and they just cannot handle it, I don't think they know anything about the animals they have- only the parrots when they have them. It gets me so angry because it looks like they do try to care for some animals and really helped me out when my boyfriends guinea pig died who had recently had babies which I spent the whole Summer raising - now very healthy. I suppose money is the root of all evil and in this case animal cruelty grrrr

He looks so much healthier now and is a gorgeous little piggy! x)

I can see the pictures now that I'm at work and bloody hell look at the state of him before! :o how could a pet shop be so neglegent! so glad he is happy and healthy now x)

Wow what a difference. He looks like a completely different piggy. He looks so cute and healthy. Well done to you both for getting him back to full health.

Wow Claire what a different little piggy, no wonder he is happily popcorning now. Do you plan to keep him yourself?

aww he looks brilliant now,its so lovely hearing success stories like thesexx

no when i went to see Paul in november i asked Paul if he wanted me to take Jenson back with me as i would keep him and paul said no as Jenson will need physio for life, but secretly i think paul as become attached to Jenson i mean who wouldnt:)) paul said he just sort of fits in now with the others:)) i know he will have a fab home with paul and will get all the care (medical) side ie dental asap when jenson needs them and he has loads of other guineas around him too for company and he will still get lawn time and cuddles x
