Update on Ruby & Esme :)

Ruby and Esme are doing great! I have added a level in their cage to see how they will get on with using that.. i.e .. if they can use the ramp.

But I've just went to check on them and Esme (the bold one) is up the ramp ... as you can see from this pic.....



Then I caught Ruby STILL on the bottom level :{
But they're still chattering away to each other and I think Esme will say to Ruby "C'mon! Get up the ramp, it's great up here! You can see our slave"

They're still too little to go into a C&C cage so I took that off, as they squeezed through the bars haha (thankfully they didn't get stuck doing so rolleyes ..)

Me, Ruby and Esme say hi to everyone and thank you for your support.. This forum is greaat! :)
 
Very cute! some piggies just love to climb, others don't. You may find that your log ramp is a bit too steep, even more so when coming back down. Piggies haven't got the grasping hands of other rodents as they are mainly ground roaming animals and they can hurt themselves when they jump.

Could you rather place the log tunnel under you mezzanine so they can climb up and down over that?

Like this? this is my tunnel- cum-ramp at a much more shallow and manageable angle. It can also not slip or fall over and injure the piggy on it.

She managed to climb up, in the end, but only just :/

Just done the tunnel/ramp idea... And it's worked like a dream!
I have just watched them go up and down and up and down the new ramp numerous times, it's fab!

Great stuff! I would never have thought of that. Glad they are both using it.
 
Make sure they have a padded soft landing as my kamikaze previous guinea decided to jump off his mezzanine a few times giving me such heart failure I had to fence it :):):)
 
Oh no! I will make it safe for them :) I now have the second level on so will try and post some pigtures later of it :)
It's like a piggie mansion in here haha
