She has ate all her food during the night, has managed to drink a little water, eagerly awaiting her breakfast this morning.....grated carrot and cucumber as well as some carrot tops, will feed her small amounts of various veg throughout the day and keep an eye on water level. Looks like being indoors is what she wanted. Thanks to everyone for help in the last few days.

Some good news at last!
She will be settling down to watch TV at this rate....

Think I maybe spoke too soon, cannot get her to take water, so have used a syringe to at least try and get some into her...she isn't happy at me doing that.
Going to go to vet first thing in morning and get a complete health check done and will take it from there, but in the meantime will keep feeding her and trying water.

Try some cucumber, or grass if she won't take anything else. It may be that she's just one of those pigs who doesn't drink a lot. If she's eating, that's the main thing. Hopefully she'll take some cucumber :)

Hi,
Just given her about a 2" piece of cucumber, cut is slices, and she was almost snatching it out of my hand. Is it ok to keep giving her cucumber or can too much be a bad thing. I have never had a sick Guinea Pig before, the other three passed away peacefully, but they were aged 5 and 7,so that is how I am so unsure as to what is wrong and what to do. I know some people will be thinking I am a real pain, but I just want to do whats best. I am willing to try anything.

Some piggies hardly drink anything and get most of their moisture from veg, so if she has stopped drinking, cucumber is a good idea. You can also try syringe feeding her juice, in case she takes that better than plain water.

Also, depending on where you are, your water supply may be too cold to feed straight off. I warm mine in the microwave - I don't know the temperature, I just make sure it feels a bit warm but not hot. That's for syringe feeding - there's no need to warm water that's just put in the cage, the piggy will just drink a bit at a time if the water is cold, normally.

Just given Ruby some more Cucumber, she took it without any problems, also she is munching on her hay, she has done plenty poops, but no joy with the water. I am not so concerned now, since being told they don't always drink a lot of water.
I have settled her down for the night, so will see what morning brings. OH says to go to the vet and just get her checked over. Thanks again everyone

I hope you and Ruby have a good night. i'll keep my fingers crossed for you at the vets tomorrow.

sending big hugs. Fran x

Hmm, I wonder why that came out twice.

If she was a good drinker before, it's definitely a problem sign, so worth getting her checked over. But maybe only her companion drank much, and that's why you're not seeing the water level go down now?

I think that's probably what it is, you know. It's hard seeing what guineapigs drink when there is more than one living together. If she is eating I wouldn't be concerned, few pigs go off their water but continue eating. If she's having tons of veggies she'll be getting what she needs from that, I am sure. She sounds like a normal pig to me :)
