Today their new toy was a willow spiral, the grassy carrot they had last week was destroyed in under 24 hours so I have hope that the willow spiral will last a bit longer - maybe

They all had a bath on Saturday with their new Gorgeous Guineas shampoo - Marley was the best behaved, Molly tried to escape the bowl and Mabel managed to scratch my OH to pieces rolleyes

Ps - the shampoo is amazing - Marley and Molly's coats have gone from reasonably scruffy and wiry to the touch, to really soft and neat looking. The one I used is called Posh n' Go and has extra conditioner in for longhaired breeds.

Marley (black piggy) also had a clip as he is a very longhaired breed (Texel), we keep it short not only for ease of brushing but we found that when he had been clipped he had a lot more energy and seemed generally happier. He would like to show everyone his new hair-do :)

Molly's hair is slightly less crazy after the bath

Mabel looks no different, but bathing her is important as when she came to me she had a terrible fungal infection so it's important we keep her skin healthy

All enjoying their willow spiral

Their 'cage' - it looks a bit bare because some of their bits are in the wash. I also don't like to clutter it up too much as they all love to zoom around and it gives them a nice space to do that

Hope you like :))

They are lovely and they have such a nice cage! :) Texels are a bit of a nightmare, I cut the hair of one of mine short recently because it was just so heavy and long, I agree that for the Summer especially it will be more comfortable.

I love Texels :(|) in fact I love all longhaired breeds, I'm on the lookout for a peruvian or a lunky to join the herd then I will have one of most of the l/h breeds.....already have a Texel, Swiss and Coronet (Mabel is supposed to be a coronet!). It has to be a rescue one tho ;)

Beautiful piggies x)x)

Ive got a coronet, sheltie, 2 peruvians, a texel, and an abbyruvian - along with 2 short hairs (like your mabel) and 2 ginger abyssinians (interestingly i was told my 1 boy was an alpaca when i got him as he had wavy hair - to see him now he's certainly not an alpaca but a peruvian prince)

I'm a sucker for a long-haired piggie drooldrool

If i had the room, id almost certainly look into getting a lunkarya, merino, alpaca, and a few swiss piggies - i would then have the complete set of long haired beauties :p

See I don't have room for the full set - but I'd love to nearly have a full set and have one each of the main ones - silly really :(|)

I do love lunkyaras though - although I'd be scared of brushing one, they look like they practically have dreadlocks! Do you know how you maintain their coat?

The hair of the lunkarya is ringlet type - my texel girl has really tight curls and so this can be a pain to brush - what i do is brush with a soft brush first and then go through with a wide tooth comb afterwards.

I'll be honest though, my long haired pigs are not too high maintenance - they get bathed every 4-6wks and brushed every few days or as and when they need it. My sheltie boy has the perfect hair, his never gets knotted, looks lovely and silky all of the time and he quite enjoys being brushed/bathed.

The hardest upkeep are my 2 peruvians - for some reason their hair knots really easily and both hate being brushed - they kick and scream the whole time :{

I have got a motely collection of coronets, perus and a couple of crosses - that'll do me fine, thank you!

Your trio is delightful indeed!

awww! x)
How gorgeous is marley!? x)
I know what you mean about the hair, I have a lunkarya and he's recently had it all cut off, so much better to handle though!

What breed is your Buff Tri Fluffy guinea? is it a Swiss? he/she's beautiful! :3 x)

Ooh beautiful piggies! x)x)x) They all look so clean and floofy :(|) Love your set up too!
