I called the vets and asked for an antibiotic because yesterday when I came home from work she had some snot (sorry gross) on her nose that looked like it was yellow coloured. That really worried me.

So now she has started a week of treatment with Baytril. I'm so worried about her. She is still acting normal except she doesn't run away from me as fast, which leads me to think she is fatigued from this bug.

It's interesting because Lulu (her mom) has a runny nose for a couple weeks and then it went away. Right after that Walnut's nose started but she can't seem to beat it. I guess its because she's only 2 months old?

Thanks for listening I just had to vent about this because I"m worried and most ppl don't understand why I care so much about a guinea pig. People laugh when I told them I've taken her to the vets. When I told a lady at the vets I was there to pick up her meds she thought it was so funny.

It looks like she has a real catarrh. Can you ask your vet for bisolvon powder to help loosen up stubborn mucus? It should be available in France as well.

I gave Llewelyn children's sudafed expectorant, 0.2 ml for an adult. too, if was really bunged up. If you give 0.05 ml with a bit of water, that may also help with getting the yellow stuff out.

I hope Walnut is feeling better soon.

Some people don't quite understand the love we have for our guinea pigs, & how much they return that love!
