hey since my last post a lot of things have happened
  1. Dazzler and Twiggy bonded and were moved in together
  2. this lasted for a few months
  3. i started to notice a lot of dominance and aggression between both pigs, dazzler started to get more and more skittis
  4. i came to the decision that the best thing for all of us was for dazzler to find a new home and to get twiggy neutered and he can then live with the girls
  5. the problem i had was finding the right home as i was scared that even if i put up a fee he would still end up as snake food :(
  6. so i contacted a local rescue and she said she would take him in. she was lovely over the chat but when we met her she was telling me off for having my two boars together and how skittish he was making me feel bad when in actual fact i was doing HER the favour by keeping her rescue busy. i felt like a terrible pet owner when in actual fact I'm not I'm a great pet owner and i loved/love dazzler soo much it was heartbreaking to let him go :'(
any mean comments about MY decision will be ignored as people were telling me to have a plan B well this is my plan B at the rescue he is kept in great conditions and he will be looked after in his new home asthey do house checks.

many thanks

abbie

I don't think there will be any mean comments to be honest. People may have advised to put them in a cage together, not everyone can do that because of space and money, I think what you did was fine and having your boar neutered so he can go with the girls is a good idea as well :) I don't know why she was telling you off for keeping two boars together? The only time I would say anything is if they were drawing blood.

I hope everything goes well with Twiggy :)

I think sometimes rescues can get judgmental without realizing how much they can hurt people. It's not unheard of to have 2 board together so I certainly don't understand that either. I think it's great they will do a home check to ensure he gets a good new home.
