So.... I'm thinking of getting my boys a bigger cage, or making one. I have a small studio flat so I don't have alot of room to play with really... They're currently in a large indoor rabbit cage.

Has anyone else got a tiny flat / room & has adapted to a bigger set up? Any ideas most grateful!

I have a small house and my 2 boars are in a maxi xxl indoor cage I am increasing their space by adding a second level on one side of their cage (only the ramp left to do so hopefully it will be sorted for them by teatime) I also have an indoor run for them that i set up in my kitchen (which they are currently wrecking lol)

I'll post pics as soon as I'm finished

maybe a second level is a solution for you to try?

have you thought about a C&C cage? you can then make it any size or shape to fit what room you have and you can make two or if your feeling adventurous 3 tiers high :))

I've looked at c&c on the web it is an option Altho as my room is small don't want it to look too crowded looking... I thought about getting them a rabbit cage with front opening doors (mine open at top) then adding some kind of floor space... Piccies would be a help please! They're gonna be big boys I think & I'd love to make them a bigger house. How are you making your level?

How are you making your level?[/QUOTE]

I used 2 grids cable tied to the the cage, making a shelf,
then used an old for sale sign (just like correx) to make a tray that fits on top of the shelf and just lined it with paper then put fleece over

add a wood strip with ridges on for the ramp and hey presto a second layer!

nearly finished so hopefully pics wont be long x

I've got a very small house and have one of these cages for my piggles:

I have thought about making a C&C cage but not sure it would be any better for me as this fits the space I have exactly and the 2 tiers plus shelves give them space to have their own space .... I think they also do a 2 tier corner one (and also a 100cm instead of 120cm one) ... and also a 3 tier one too....

If I didnt have 2 dogs and if this hadnt fitted in so well though I'd probably try to make a C&C one....

Good luck - I'm interested in the replies to this too :)

Ooh that looks lovely! I'm gonna have to make me a level... My cage is quite tall taller than the average rabbit cage I think as I got it years ago so should have room for that... Thanks for the idea! X

I like how you do your hay too with the ball on top... I need to sort my hay out the manger I have is rubbish! Do you find they wee in there? Don't really fancy them weeing on their hay surely it'll stunk?
