i have upset piggies big time or should i say asda lol. when first got piggies use to give normal carrotts but were not really 100% mad about them . then started getting some small baby carrotts from asda already washed and peeled in bags went in last week stopped doing them well none in ours . they were not asda own brand some other one £1 a bag they loved them use to demolish them in 2 secs flat . well my name is mud got normal carrots cut them small round long any shape you want they dont touch them gone on carrot strike lol:...

We have the same problems with Asda. They sold kale for years then suddenly stopped and got some winter ruby mix in with different types of kale and stuff in it, piggies loved it, 2 weeks later they've stopped making it. They made another summer version and the same thing happened. They had tender flat leaf baby kale in the other week and again the piggies loved it but never got it in again! Mine aren't fussy when it comes to carrots though they'll eat any :))

We don't shop in Asda, but I've had my carrot strikes over the years!

Thankfully, my remaining lot is not too fussy (Dizzy was the worst)...

I've been getting washed/peeled baby carrots for piggies from Tescos, don't know if there's one near you - hope this helps :)

We do Lidl and Aldi for the guinea pig veggie shopping. They currently have cucumbers at just 29p. However my piggies won't eat their carrots. rolleyes

My pigs get a little carrot every so often, often once a week but moreso once every two-three weeks. Whenever they're given carrot, it's like heaven just descended. :)

went asda they got the carrots in again called babycut carrots by bolthouse farms they love them

I think at certain times of the year, carrots will be a bit "pithy" and piggies won't be so keen on them. I remember Vedra at CCT saying that when I was worried my first 2 piggies had gone off carrots. Could it be that we are in that season now?

I tend to have a pretty wide selection of veg to give the boys - more now since Celyn's been a bit poorly (well, he had an eye infection and then emergency surgery 2 weeks tomorrow to have the eye removed, but he's well-recovered and in rude health now, thankfully.) I find mine tend to eat their veg better if I vary it - you know, carrots at breakfast, kale for tea, cucumber for supper, etc.

If I forget the rotation and serve the same vegetable twice running, they give me the dirtiest of looks! :-)

carrot love

I am just learing what piggies like, etc....but found out Abby's 2nd day with me...that she LOVES carrots. She'd follow me into fire for her carrots! she is a tiny girl....i gave her some out of my salad mix...the little shaved kind....it looked like Spaghetti being slurped into her tiny mouth! Maybe before I pick up Molly tonight i'll get them some....to make the homecoming party that much Sweeter...lol Any other veggies Your piggies go goo goo over?

I only give baby carrots once a week, twice if I'm running low on something else because of the Vitamin A/Calcium issue.

I also give a piece of carrot every day. I think from reading this though that I am spoiling mine. At breakfast and tea time they have a bit of each of a few things. Hmm think I am being a bit of a sucker!

I know, they are really fussy with carrots! Most of my boys will eat pretty much anything, but Alan hates strawberry, fine beans, baby sweetcorn and pepper, with the last three things being often fed in this household!

Don't you just love 'them !

We had a piggie who would only eat veg if it was wet ! We had to run it all under cold water immediately before giving it to her !

They have such funny little quirks don't they !

lol so do mine i wet them before putting in pen . then basil gives my fingers a lick oh bless
