I was cutting a nail on Morse and he moved just at the moment I was cutting the nail and I've taken too much off. Not a huge amount too much but it is bleeding and has been for 20 minutes.

What do I do? I thought it would have clotted by now...mallethead

Nails tend to bleed loads when you cut the quick but it's not really that bad. Dip it in cornflour or normal flour to help clotting. It might be worth investing in a styptic pencil in case of future accidents. He should be fine though. :)

Has it stopped yet? if not plain flour has been recommend in the past I believe.

Good advice from Hermes. I've done it myself twice now, so have a styptic pencil in the piggy first aid box. It works very fast.

Thank you

Phew, I do believe it has stopped. Excellent advice all. Thank you very much for taking the time to give such good advice. Appreciate it :)

Glad it's stopped. Never nicked one yet but it is only a matter of time and easily done.

Glad its stopped :) and don't feel bad, most of us of had our accidental nail bleeding incidents!

I'm glad it stopped! Nails bleed a lot... one my pigs ripped one off on the cage door and it looked like an ax murder had just taken place!

Yes bleeding nails are scary and ofcourse you always feel guilty.
Apart from cornflour you can also apply soap from a bar of soap and wet
