I'm so sorry for your and Daisy's loss. At least piglet had the comfort of her cage mate still being with her for those last few days, so much better than if they had been separated as they obviously loved each other dearly. Give Daisy all the love and attention she needs, and let her give you all the love and attention you need.

I am so sorry you lost her, we where all willing Piglet on.

I hope you can take some comfort from the fact she had her best buddy by her side, and that you gave her the best chance possible at a recovery..

Sleep tight little one x

Thank you everyone. I now accept I made the right decision but it was a tough one. Daisy is home but clearly not happy alone so I'm going try her with a new baby sister or possibly two. I'll give her a few days before I decide for sure.

Are you near any of the rescues on our rescue locator?

Most of these rescues offer a bonding service which ensures you get a compatible companion for Daisy.

Ah, closest to me is the Blue Cross but that's still a fair way away and they only have uneutered boys at the moment. I'll keep an eye on their website though.

I am very sad to report that Piglet deteriorated badly this afternoon. She refused feeds, was very flat and was in pain. The vet said she suspected peritonitis and there was no more painkillers she could give her. I had to make the hard decision to end her suffering. The vet agreed it was the right decision but I feel totally devastated. RIP my gorgeous girl, I miss you so much xx

I am very sorry for your loss. You have done your utmost to save her life, but so sad that it wasn't to be. :(

HUGS!

Some young pig is in for a lovely life living with Daisy, she sounds like one of the most loving cage mates any guinea could ask for!

I am so sorry.Wish you luck in finding some lucky pigs or pig a home with you
