is it ok "safe" to use roof felt on my guinea pig ramp to give them grip ? awnsers on this need to be within the next couple of hours as I'm making the ramp in a mo?/ thankyou :)

I really hope it is because mines got roof felt type stuff on it which is what was covering it when we brought it, so far it doesn't seem to have caused any problems xx

i've always wondered this! thought it might be handy to help keep their nails short and give them a bit of grip when they're using the stairs. sorry can't help but would be interesting to know x

is yours made by trixie ? i had 1 on order, looked like felt in the pic but when trixie went into admin it never arrived,, but even if yours is handmade thats great news as what ive just got to do it, so if i dont hear any more i assume its safe and will carry on,,thankyou for your repley

I think its perfectly safe, we have a two storey hutch with one on and its been no problem from the previous pair of piggies that were in it for over 4 years. In my inside 3 storey house ive used sand paper to wear their little claws down and get some grip.

x.

I have no idea who made my hutch but it's deffo not handmade, I'm sorry I can't be more helpful on that bit because I brought it second hand, we've had it for about 6 months and not had any problems with it and the girls find it easy to run up and down xx

I think it would be fine:)

I recently saw a hutch with a felt ramp, as long as you put rungs on it at intervals so if they do slide they don't scratch thier feet too much it may help prevent give them more grip also:)
