Just gone to fill the hay and food and lifted up the fabric I've got to cover them at night and there's ants all over the hutch. I've looked inside and can't see any inside.
Is there anything I can do? Will they harm them?

Yes there all outside. I've looked inside and can't see one. They was under the my cover. Only lifted it as its blew over the cage abit and then there was LOADS running around.

If you want to prevent them from coming draw around the hutch with a line of chalk...I dunno what's in it or why it works but for some reason they won't cross it. Of course make sure you get them all off first ...then chalk away. It's also said that used coffee grounds do the same but I dunno. We did chalk around the outside kitty's food n water bowl and it worked...but we have never tried the c grounds

I would try to brush them off with a brush, get rid of any nests (build up of dirt somewhere or under the hutch if it is on dirt)

Ants are tricky things, they get into places they shouldn't like ears and eyes etc

maybe your cover was abit wet with rain or condensation, ants seem to like that could you hang it over the washing line or something when its not in use so they dont come back

Yes the cover was very wet as it had just finished raining. And was damp underneath as its only fabric so isn't waterproof. I'll start and hang it over the line in a morning from now and see if that helps. There gone now but if I see them again I think I'm going to move the hutch in a different location. Eww horrible little things....I've been itching ever since haha!
