As some of you may have seen my guinea pig has a reccurrent set of bladder stones 8...
I am going on holiday on Friday and still trying to make the decision of what to do - surgery or no :(.
I was just wondering if there was any chance at all that someone very pig-savvy on here may be in my area, to care for him post-op? If there was I would be hugely appreciative, knowing he was getting the best possible care.

My friend who was going to look after them works a lot and is unlikely to be able to give the amount of syringing, fluids, ca:ph balanced diet etc that would be needed......

I'm in Edinburgh.

Long shot but worth a try.

Thank you!

I've replied to your pm (you should received 2 messages), just sorry I'm too far away to be of any practical help.:(

Aww, I'm no where near you, (in South Wales), but I just wanted to say I understand how you are feeling and especially in relation to post op care, as I've been there myself when Daisy was ill. I, plus many more members on here, know the responsibility and care with post op care.

I do hope you find someone soon before you go away. There must be someone ) even if not on here, that can help you out. Good luck hunny. xx

Hi Jo I am back now. As I said I am more than willing to do the nursing care for you - my only concern is that it would be some distance for you and him to travel BUT the offer is there should you need the help.

I am sure someone will come along this evening/tomorrow who may be able to help you and who is nearer than I am.

Much Love
Helen.

Edinburgh eh? We are in Macmerry & have garden/house space & even a couple of spare cages...plus I am at home most of the day & when not sewing I am keeping the pigs topped up with food & water

...if we can be of any help drop us a PM/I'm/e-mail

Must be good timing as I hadn't logged on for a few months - and only did today as we have now broken into double figures & have 11 GPs - with no.12 already reserved for when he is old enough to collect

I'd just seen your earlier post too - I'd vote for the operation again then see what preventative steps you can do such as cider vinegar (as someone else had suggested)

Thank you for your kind offers everyone, they are very much appreciated.

Please read my update on the other thread :(
