I posted this in another thread ...

"Hi. New guinea pig owner here.

Is it possible my furry friend has lice? I was examining some specific spots of his hair and his rump where the skin is visible and I saw tiny clumps of white dots, almost like dandruff.
He is only over a month old, and has been showing odd behavior such as rarely interacting and staying inside his hidey hole.

Is it possible it's just dandruff? I can't tell, though I've never seen him truly happy or popcorn or anything maybe its related to this?'

Now I'm beginning to realize these are actually fleas! I have two guinea pigs, on the brown one I noticed what looked like nits or eggs, just white specs on certain parts of his hair near his skin.
In the other white one I noticed actual live ones! They were brownish in color and there were a few of them on his fur.

I need help because I can't afford vet care right now and I'm not sure how to handle this.

and the answer is the same as you other thread ...

Please see Wiebke's post ...

Please have your little boy vet checked. It can be a fungal infection or skin parasites of any form. Unfortunately, we certainly cannot diagnose this online without seeing and handling your guinea pig (nor are we qualified to), but you can
do a lot more damage by treating wrongly on spec and with low-dosed broad spectrum pet shop products. You can reclaim the vet cost from your pet shop if you present the vet bill with your sales receipt if your vet can confirm that infection/exposure must have happened at the shop.

Definitely needs a visit to the vets to determine what kind of parasite they are, that way you know you're using the best and most effective treatment. We have a pig at the rescue, Darwin, who came in with a serious louse infestation, so much so he'd chewed all the hair if on his rump :( the vet sorted him out no problem. Your pig will be really itchy so please get them to a vet soon; he'll thank you for it ;)
