Hello, I am new to the forum and I have Guinea issue. I have searched for help but cannot find any answer. My Guinea has a poorly bottom. I noticed last week that there was a small patch of sort of 'crusty' scabs around his bottom. I took him to the vets straight away and they said it looked like an over active anal gland :{ . They shaved his bottom and told me to bath the area in diliuted 'Hibiscrub' for 5 days. I did this and there seems to be no improvement. The scabs dont appear to be causing my pig any pain and his eating and running about as normal. The problem is I am going away for 2 weeks in the next few days and cannot him back to the vets before then. I am leaving him with another Guinea Pig owner but would like to try and sort out the problem before I go. I have previously purchased some items from 'Gorgeous Guineas' for when they have mites. I have 'Kwench' and 'Aloe Vera Gel'. I also have some Galens Gardens green cream which I can use but I'm not really sure what will be best? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can you get the pig back to the vets before you go away? It sounds like he could do with another check-up/review. Please discuss any new treatment with your vet before you use it.
