Urgent help needed

I would post this in the health and illness section but thought it would get more views here.
Rum has lost a lot of weight lately and is on antibiotics. She is eating some soft things and a little hay but can't eat her pellets. She is reluctantly taking her baytril but I am beginning to suspect teeth issues. She has been peeing blood today as I found red marks on her vetbed.
I'm not sure I trust my current vet to be cavy savvy enough for dental treatment does anyone know any good ones near Edinburgh?
Does anyone nearby have any Critical Care or similar as I don't know of anyone in the area that sells it and getting it online won't get here quick enough?

Sorry if I am babbling as I am really worried about Rum.
 
I think hay is the hardest thing for piggies with teeth issues to eat, well thats what i was told once but not eating nuggets is a worry,

You can get nuggets and put them in boiling hot water untill they mush i think and feed this as a bit of a paste, and try that ?

If you are caught out without Critical Care, you can use mushed up pellets instead for hand feeding. Otherwise, you may be able to get a bit from your vet in a hurry until your website order arrives.
 
For dental problems I would go with Glenn at Apex vets, he's worked on a few forum pigs with good results.

Syringe feeding is fine using mashed pellets - 2 tablespoons of pellets, cover with hot water, allow to soak for 10 mins, mash with the back of a fork - add more water if needed. Try feeding from spoon, if the piggy won't take it then add more water so it can be syringed. A 1ml syringe with the most of the spout cut off works well (leave enough of the spout so the plunger does not come out the end). If the piggy is not eating at all give 20-30 mls per feed, every 3-4 hours.

Thanks I was just about to make up some mushed pellets and was about to look up the best way to do so.
 
Why don't you give some local vets a call in the meantime to see if they have cc in stock for you?!

Still not eating pellets but is eating hay and veg slowly. Have been mushing pellets for her and she seems to be getting the hang of the syringe even if she fights it most of the time. She has lost a little more weight. Will keep you updated.
