Scruff is really wheezing. I took her out of the cage in case any smells in there were causing it but it's still happening. She stopped for a while but now it started and sounds worse. She is very sensitive to dust. I'm just so worried that she's going to stop breathing altogether. She is on medication for it. What else can I do? Tried giving cucumber as it usually seems to help but that didn't. Took her away from other pigs. Have put her in a towel away from any hay/dust but didn't help either.

I can't play the video at work, what type of sound is it, is it a hooting? like a duck? What medication did the vet give you? If possible can you keep everything to one thread as it is easier for us to refer back to what has happened before.

It is a bit like hooting, yes. Sometimes its lower pitched and sometimes it's higher. I'm not sure what medication is called as it was prescribed by the vet and doesn't have the name on the sticker. It's just something to treat chest infections in guinea pigs.

Does she ever cough afterwards?

It is most likely Baytril as that is the standard antibiotic that the vets choose first as it is the only one licensed for pigs. If you are worried I would call the vet,

No, she doesn't cough. She's eating fine while she's wheezing, it just sounds and looks like she's doing it with difficulty. She has another appointment tomorrow thankfully.

Ok, I hope the vet can help tomorrow. I think I discussed fluid on your other thread, hopefully the vet will check for that again and give a diuretic if needed.

Yes you did, sorry, I didn't think to carry it on on my other thread. Thank you for the help.
