My bumble just leaped out of my arms coming in from the run and landed on the patio 8... she's bled a lot, looks like it might have stopped now but has been coming from her mouth/nose area. Used a wet cotton bud to clean her mouth and her teeth are still in tact (front ones anyway) have syringe fed her some water and keeping her on my knee for a long time now to see whether she poo's/wee's normally. Shes kind of rattling when breathing though and I don't know what to do. She seems a bit shaken but still lively and I've just text laura from guinea pig helpline.

OH isn't home for another hour or so and I'm sooooooooooo upset!

Oh sounds scary - hope she is okay.

If it was me I'd be getting her checked at the vets asap - just the bleeding from the mouth / nose would scare me but I'm no expert / vet so cant really offer much help other than say what I would do.

xx

Omg that sounds awful :( Go to the vets asap it could be serious, especially as guineas legs are not long she could have hit her stomach/chest on the hard patio causing real damage.

That's frightening! I would advise a vet trip asap - not only to see if there is any damage but also for treatment for shock and pain relief. You may need to syringe feed if the teeth have been damaged, they sometimes crack above the gumline.

I'm upset reading this, I hope Bumble is going to be ok. I agree that the sooner you get to the vets the better. I hope you are holding up. Thinking of both you and Bumble xx

Oh no. Poor you and bumble. It can happen so easily and they really can wiggle. Cant offer advice just send a *hug* to you both

Sorry when I stopped panicking so much I rushed to emergency vet. She is ok going to Reg vets tomorrow, will update when I'm home. Thanks all

Alan and Barry have started wriggling alot when they're going back to their hutch from the run and sometimes I worry I squeeze them too hard they wriggle so much!

I did the same with my bunny as she wriggless so much when I hold her. She climbed around to my back and then jumped. Luckily we were indoors and she landed on the carpet.

Hope the vets goes OK xx

Ok well all seems good, Bumble is pooing and weeing as normal, walking and running etc as normal. Teeth good so looks like she had a very lucky escape with just a cut and bruised upper lip! Luckily we picked up the spare cage from my friend tonight so she has been separated from Bea so I can monitor food intake over the next few hours. She has run off with a whole romaine lettuce leaf so think the main damage must be shock but I have mashed some pellets in boiling water and if she hasn't touched much by the time I go bed I will syringe feed her a little to make sure she's ok overnight

Good news.. And good plan monitoring her for the next few hrs. Wilma once absailed down my bed :))..

It happens to the best of us, pigs can be very wriggly at times!

glad to hear shes alright...
there so easy to loose grip of... especially when there determined... :)

glad to hear that she's ok. Her front teeth may fall out over the next few days if there was trauma to them but they should grow back quickly just make sure you keep a check on them incase she needs a bit of help eating. My friend's pig once fell out of his Hutch and the same thing happened to him x

PHEW so glad to hear that Bumble is OK xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>
They're the wriggliest little things...... perhaps for awhile pop her into a cuddle cup or into a box before picking her up, then carry her that way....little minx fancy scaring your mummy like that!

HUGE HUGS xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
and healing loves and brrrrrrr's from the girls xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

she seems ok, no poo's in the cage though so syringe fed her some mushed pellets on the safe side but she managed to eat her veggies last night. I separated her from Bea so I could keep an eye on whether she's eating or not. Will take her to my vets for a check up today on the safe side.
