:...So I set the run up with clean blankets and neutral toys, only hideys with two holes etc. Popped Doris in then popped Tilly in. At first they seemed fine, greeted one another and went about their business, no bad behaviour whatsoever.
Now about 20 minutes in Tilly has decided to continually rumble strut Doris and try to mount her. This would be ok except Doris completely freaks out and makes really distressed noises/kicks her legs about.

I'm just wondering if anybody thinks it's worth putting Doris with Annie as they've lived comfortably together before, and try Tilly with Frazzle? This does make me sad though as Frazzle brings out the best in Annie. Or should I keep it going with Tilly and Doris?

:...:...

i'm confused as to who's who lol, but whilst i try and figure this out, i would keep at it for a little bit longer and see what happens it may quieten down.
good luck

Acceptance has happened; what your girls are doing now is already sorting out the hierarchy. Please let them get on with it! A lot of the squeaking is not pain, but submission. As there are no fights, you have to sit things out. Your girl should hopefully settle down eventually.

So long as no blood has been drawn i'd sit and wait and see. Could you not try them all together and see what then happens?

I would imagine Doris to be top piggy? But then Doris is the one being submissive even though she's almost 5 :{

Age and size don't always determine who is top - the top lady of my Tribe is one of the smallest sows and she was by no means the oldest, either, when she started out.

For now, I would stick to the course you have taken - Doris and Tilly are working through the small print of the bonding protocol. It is sometimes not easy to sit back! Only if you see Doris losing weight or showing signs of depression, would I separate.

There is always the chance that you can try and mingle the girls through a series of shared run/lawn time later on.

Tilly is very bold, she's been here no time at all and she doesn't run when i walk past or wave my hand, i poked my finger in the cage saying her name and she came up and sniffed me.
How long do you reckon it will take for them to settle down? I weighed Doris just now to keep an eye on her.

The dominance phase can last a couple of weeks. Prepare yourself that it will flare up again a bit when you put them together in their (hopefully cleaned, neutralised and rearranged) cage - that is something to keep an eye on. See how they eat together first. A bigger flat plate would not be bad.

Would just like to update and say thank you! Tilly and Doris are getting along well :) They enjoy snuggling up with eachother which Doris and Annie never did so I think I've made the right decision.

I would leave them a while. Dougal humps Ted (has done for months) and Teddy makes the most awful squealing noise. It goes right through you doesnt it?! But although it looks bad to us its harmless, they are just sorting out the boss. Humping, strutting, kicks and even little nips are fine. Its just when blood is drawn that you need to worry.
Good look Xx
