URGENT: Re Pain Meds (Metacam/Meloxidyl)

Tallulah is overdue her pain med and I got Metacam for her, but I think its the wrong dose?

We have been told 1.3ml per day she weights aprox 1kg.

Can someone please tell me if this is right/wrong?

ETA: The box says Meloxidyl, I'm pressuming it is the dogs version or something.
 
That sounds too much.

Meloxidyl is about .3 ml, for a piggy of your size.
 
Elvis was perscribed 0.3ml, so that has got to be wrong.

Was that once a day or twice daily?

I cant find the concentration of it on the leaflet. But it dogs say 0.1mg (no idea what that is to ml) per kg..

I'm really annoyed that the label was wrong. Its so irresponsible...and surely that much could have killed her?!

I will give her 0.3ml.

My mum is on the phone to the emergency vet, so will see what they say but to be honest I trust you guys more than a vet about dosage right now rolleyes
 
The emergency vet said 0.7ml....AHHHH!

I think I will do 0.3ml, she would have been with no pain med for the last few hours and seems fine, so less will do less damage I should imagine that ODing the poor girl
 
The emergency vet said if 0.7ml doesnt work to double it...but I just told my mum we will give 0.3ml and if it doesnt work up it to 0.5ml. But we went upstairs with 0.3ml and half on it ended up down her chin and on my arm - she is the best at avoiding medicane. But she is fine and acting like her normal self...so cant imagine what 1.3ml would have done...
 
I have metacam for bert at the moment. It's working really well. Been told 0.2 for him. has it once a day. He nearly got it twice today with me being at work all evening and all night. But he got 1 drop more than he should of this evening :s he seems fine running and leaping around oh and stuffing his fast like there is a food shortage :p
he weighs in at just over 600kg.
