I know this is short notice but I am desperate to get my 4yr old boar from York to The Cat and Rabbit Clinic for treatment.
Is anyone able to help with any part of the journey?
Thanks for reading.
Val

Have you contacted piggy train on FB?

Thanks @sport_billy
I am not on face book. But I did contact Debbie at Teas who did get involved with arranging transport. I then thought it would be impossible to get Amos to the clinic and decided to take him to his usual vet. But I had an horrific experience there yesterday and would prefer to take Amos to a dental specialist who has vast experience in that area.
Its a nightmare.

Thanks @Jaycey I have an appointment booked for Tuesday 17/4/18 at 5.40 pm. I booked it hoping transport could be arranged for Amos by then. If I cannot get Amos there I will have to cancel and just take him to the usual vet clinic

As a last ditch resort have you tried seeing how much train fares are, or paying a pet courier to take him for you? @worried val of york

I've helped on a few piggy trains in the past, they work brilliantly but I know it's hard to coordinate because of peoples daily lives and work commitments

Can Tim not help, I think he's a co-ordinater with the piggy trains. I hope you can get him there.Normal vets are not as good. If I wasn't down south I would have helped.

Val,
Who is your usual vet?
Can highly recommend mark Naguib at battle flatts (Stamford bridge nr York) for complex health issues X

Thanks @AngelaJTaylor . I do think Mark is an excellent exotic vet, he did the original operation on Amos's teeth. But I have heard such good reports about Simon that I want to take Amos back there for check up . I will be going back to Mark. However I did have a terrible experience last week with a female vet who works at same practice as Mark when she saw another guinea pig and it really has knocked my confidence with the care there. Mark was on leave all last week.

How dare he go on leave when Amos needs him. Lol
What on earth did she do to upset you so much, I would request Mark everytime & tell him what happened, perhaps he could have a quiet word with her.

I would specifically ask for Mark. I have found everyone fine, who was the vet and what did she do that concerned you?
I have found Gemma good for routine stuff, she is training for her exotics qualification, but obviously Mark is the main man when it comes to anything complicated. He did complex surgery to remove large multiple abcesses on our tiny elderly Chinese hamster last April, and it was a complete success. Sadly poor Morris hamster eventually left us in November because he had a dodgy willy, but nothing to do with marks surgery!

Hope all goes well for Amos X X
