URGENT - Taking a cage mate for company (spay op)

Belle is going in to the vets for a spay in the morning, what's folks thoughts to sending her with one of her cage mates? (neutered boar) for company to make things a little easier?

I don't expect her to be at the vets for much longer than 6 or 7 hours at the most.

Initially thought a friend for company would be good, but then though that seeing as she is in for a spay due to ovarian cysts and the related humping problems, I don't know how long it would take for the hormones to leave her system and don't want her doing herself any damage humping her pal within minutes of waking!

Thoughts on this please?

I would take her alone as she will be sore after and need to rest without being disturbed. My Amelia Jane had an operation and went alone. When she came back I had to keep her sister away as she was so sore and needed to be left alone.

Hi folks.... well Belle went this morning with one of her cage mates for company (she went very early, before I read these replies!).

... she is doing well, came round from the GA nicely and was snuggled with Lenny asleep when I spoke to the vets. x)

She's had a little of the parsley and lettuce that I sent her with.

I pick her up in an hour!

Missed her so much and been thinking about her all day!

Yes I've scrutinised that link before I took her Weibke, but thanks! Tis a very good website!

Well madam has been home 2 and a half hours and she has been slowly nibbling at a bit of veg but looking pretty groggy and sorry for herself.

She is snuggled in a blanket in her little "hospital" cage getting some R & R with the occasional lettuce nibble thrown in.

Not eating much at all though.... at what point would you recommend feeding critical care to supplement her.

Also, vets would not let me take any antibiotics or pain relief home which I thought strange... thoughts on this?
