I think i already know the answer to this but... My guinea pig (sienna) has a URI and seems to be recovering well but iv noticed she could realy do with a bath she has SERIOUS pepper staining under her chin which has went all dry and crusty and also her bum area seems dry and crusty :... would it be safe the wash her? also she has lost 25 grams in weight over 3 days but appears to be eating normal is this ok? thanks

I probably wouldn't put my piggie through the stress of a bath at the moment, could you just sponge her gently with a damp cloth and maybe give her bum fur a little trim? Hope Sienna gets well soon x

I agree with sport_billy! Just sponge off the worst if necessary, but wait with a bath until the URI is over and Sienna is well again. It's not worth risking it; URI can kill, dirt won't!

Sending get better vibes!

Thanks i thought it best not to give her one. ill try sponge her. i cant wait to give her a bath dhe loves them (unlike the other two lol) i hope she gets better soon she seems so withdrawn and is only interested in kisses from lola.
