URI... finally beat it.

Well... it's the first time for us beating a URI, Amla has just come back from the vets and is in the clear! She was on Septrin for 2 weeks at a high dose (1.5ml per day) split into three 0.5ml doses per day (every 8 hours)..the vet said their metabolism is so rapid that an 8 hour cycle of giving her the Septrin increases her chances. And it worked! And now we have been advised to slowly reduce the dose over a week from this to zero.
To be honest Baytril in my opinion (after loosing several guineas to URI) is not the way to go..it seems to work and then doesn't work, and you never seem to shake the URI.
YMMV but next time it's Septrin here.
