oreo had a uri about 22 days ago and was treated for it and she seemed good, until i just noticed her breathing was bad again. I'm going to give her some antibiotics that i still have and call the vet monday. any help?

How long was the course of antibiotics she was given?
What antibiotic was she given?

Sometimes the antibiotic isn’t given for long enough or it might not be completely the right antibiotic, symptoms can be suppressed but if any bacteria remains then they begin to multiply again and the symptoms return.
It can therefore mean a longer course of the same antibiotic or a course of a different one can be needed.

she was on baytril for 7 days, i don’t think that it was long enough , i have about 8 days before the antibiotics i have expire so i think I'm just going to give her some more until then . i also have been bringing her into the bathroom when it’s steamy for a few minutes to break some of the congestion up, and i put a dehumidifier in the same room as them. should i still call the vet and schedule an appointment ? i have to wait til monday though

7 days is likely not enough. 10 days at least is usually prescribed for a URI.
Yes do call the vet. She needs to be checked again.
We would not be able to tell you whether it is a good idea to give her the antibiotics you have - only a vet can tell you to do so.

okay thank you. so do you think it’s okay to give her antibiotics for 2 days til i can get her in? then see what the vet says

I'm going to be calling the vet tomorrow but i did give her the antibiotics because she was sniffling a lot, and i figured that i needed to help her and relieve her sniffling asap , but tomorrow i’m going to see what the vet says .

Sometimes the course isn't long enough, other times the antibiotic is not a good match and another antibiotic is needed. Definitely give the vet a call. One of my pigs when through two courses of sulfatrim (she would improve on the med and then go back to wheezing after the meds ended) and then ended up on another antibiotic that did the trick.

so the bottle says 5-7 days, but like two days ago i had her on baytril i had at home from a few weeks ago until i got to call the vet , so should i only do 5? not sure if this even makes sense lol

As the vet has said 5-7 days then ensure you don’t exceed 7 days without talking to the vet again.
