I have a long haired piggy and she often has dirty bum hair where she sits in her wee. But since her last rinse/bum trim I'm surprised how quickly her bottom has gotten dirty and I've noticed seems to be wet a lot of the time.

I've also noticed an increase in water consumption over the last couple of months which to be honest I'd assumed was the older piggy consuming more and because the central heating is on it gets quite warm upstairs at times (where they live). However the pig in question often seems to be the one I find at the water bottle now I think harder about it.

I haven't noticed any unusual urine marks at all and she still eats plenty and seems active like usual. Do you think there is anything to be concerned about?

(The two of them are drinking roughly 500ml in slightly over 24 hrs which is more than it was previously, though I've only recently started making a mental note of the frequency)

Having a permanently wet bottom can definitely be a sign of urine infection. I have one piggy in who this happens and its her only symptom.
Get her to the vet for a urine test and check up. Also wash her and keep her on vet bed if you can. Apply a soothing lotion such as gorgeous guinea calendula if her skin looks sore.

Please have her vet checked! With sows, you need to consider both the urinary tract (URI, bladder, kidneys) and the reproductive tract (womb). A sudden marked and sustained rise in water consumption, often accompanied by weight loss, may also be looked at for kidney problems or diabetes if a urine infection can be ruled out.

All the best. Please make sure that you avoid urine scald. Change cosies/bedding daily and if necessary cream the bottom; especially any sore or balding areas.
