Can anyone tell me why this is happening?
I have a longhaired boar he keeps having a wet tummy i am sure it is were he is weeing, is this a problem or something wrong with him?
I try to keep it clean by bathing, his cage is cleaned every 3 days so it not due to a dirty cage his cage mates do not have this problem, he does seem very low to the ground is this normal?
any help please?

Cystitis can cause urine-soaked tummies and genitals, but it is also often just a case of the pig not bothering to move when s/he's peed! What bedding do you use?

the bedding i have used is wood shavings covered in a thick layer of hay but i have changed today to aubiose covered with a good layer of hay.
he doesn't seem unwell eating and drinking fine and make no noises when weeing as if he was in pain.

Wood shavings/sawdust are no good as bedding for gps. Aubiose or Mega-sorb are both good to use. Is your boar squeaking when he wees and/or does he have a nasty smell? Those signs are good indicators of cystitis.

Agree with what has been said. Wood shavings can cause breathing problems and soreness of feet :)

I have a similair problem with my long haired piggy. He did have an infection a few months back, which cleared up quickly with antibiotics. But to be honest with you, my George is just a messy piggy, he has a habit of sitting in his wee when ever the oppitunity arisesrolleyes.

If you are worried honey, it does no harm to take them to the vets for a good check up.

My george also sometimes has a dirty tummy. I put them in the playpen and on the floor is fleece and a plastic sheet at one end so hay and stuff doesn't go all over. He likes to wee on the plastic bit then sit in it :{

I have now bought some more fleece and going to cover the whole thing as he tends to get smelly as he is a naughty little monkey :))
