Morning,
I'm upgrading my piggy cage and thinking about getting a c&c.
I use wood shavings for my boys as I just think it's easier for me, smells nice and is generally less faff. (I have tried fleece before for around 6mn but wasn't keen) However I'm wondering if it's the best option for these types of cages?
Anyone tried shavings with a c&c? x

As long as you have a correx base in your cage with a good sized upstand to keep the bedding in (some will still probably get out though!) then using shavings or any other type of disposable bedding is absolutely fine. Fleece doesn’t suit everybody!

I was going to buy the set up from kavee to make things as easier as possible but noticed the corex sides were quite short. Perhaps I could get a bit more corex and have a higher one on the front side? x

Kavee correx is shorter and probably much less suitable for shavings/disposable bedding. There is another UK supplier who sells full kits - Candcguineapigcages - which have a 15cm upstand (if I remember correctly).
Even if you have one higher side, it’s obviously just going to come out elsewhere.

I have a clear front for mine - it does wonders for keeping hay off the floor, it might be worth it for shavings too? It's more expensive but has saved me on hoovering :))

Is it a piece of plexiglass you use? That's a great idea!
I'm sold on the 4x2 with the loft to be honest. Fleece on the ramp and loft, shavings on the bottom I think 🤔 x

You can actually buy them on the kavee website with a clear front.
