Hi all ☺️
My Guinea pig has been diagnosed with a uti and he has been given Baytril 0.4ml twice daily. But when we took him to the vet they prescribed him metacam of 1ml once daily. Had anyone else have been prescribed a dose that high for a Guinea pig for a pain killer.
 
I’m sorry to hear about the UTI. Don’t worry about the Metacam dosage. A 1ml dose is not unheard of, UTIs are painful, and it’s good your vet is taking the pain seriously - piggies can definitely tolerate higher doses.

Is that cat or dog Metacam?
 
Thank you so much for this , it’s just I have never been prescribed that type of dose before I just wanted to double check because it’s worried me a little. My Guinea pig had also been diagnosed with anemia is there anything I can help with it or has anyone else has gone through this.
