I noticed recently that my boar Oscar, has been quietly squeaking while he pees and poos, could it be a uti? I use newspaper in the section where he goes to the bathroom and I change it about twice daily, but I notice that the newspaper is slightly orange after the pee dries, i don't think it's blood but it just dries orange.
Worth a trip to the vets? What can I do in the meantime?

It is worth a trip to the vets to check for UTI or other potential bladder issues if the squeaking is regular and audible.

Pee often oxidises when it comes into contact with fresh air and dries a rusty colour. Visible traces of blood show usually as tiny red dots in the middle of a pee or as a reddish ring around a differently shaded pee puddle depending on the amount, as blood has a slightly different specific weight to urine. However, bacteria can contribute to the colouring and pee can contain blood without being red.
 
@Wiebke That's really useful info about how blood is spotted, I never knew that! Yes definitely worth a vet trip, I took my youngest, Ernie on Monday as he has been doing the same, no blood luckily and we have been prescribed septrin, twice a day for 10 days, you may also be given baytril. I personally have found septrin more effective. Don't be afraid to ask your vet about both and what they think is best too, some vets don't always give septrin as its mainly used in cats and dogs (I had sign a disclaimer saying I was happy to use a medicine not normally prescribed for a small exotic).

I just rang our vets and booked him in for tomorrow morning, hopefully I'll have some antibiotics given to help my little man.
Will post an update tomorrow after we've been :)
