Make sure your terms and conditions are all sorted etc. too - I had someone cancel the night before they were due to come, asked for their deposit back, thank God mine says 'non refundable' there! I ask for a deposit to secure bookings as had several time wasters last year including one who hadn't even got the flipping guinea pigs and might not be going away but wanted to book anyway...madness...

Congratulations. What took you so long? :)) :)) :))

I hope everything goes well for you, You will have to have your holidays in the quiet time now, after this June holiday off course, or find a stand in.

It's a shame we are away at the same time, never mind, there's always another holiday. Do you offer a Christmas dinner to your Christmas guests? Sorry of course they have a large veg selection everyday anyway, and they said no thanks to the turkey. :)p

Hi Cazz......LOL! Well, my two love sprout leaves, so that's the best part of Christmas dinner anyway (in my opinion) xx>>>

To be honest, we normally do have our holidays in quiet times (cheaper!) but this was a 'Sun' collect-the-vouchers holiday, so we had to have what we were given, but we were happy with June!

Just a thought for you - as I've had "the problem" three times in the last couple of years :)) and they are repeat boarders!

Boys - bonded and happy at home can suddenly become somewhat testosterone boosted when hearing and smelling other piggies. It's normally young boys but beware that they can fight like mad and you may need to put some separation device in. I have removable wire door in the middle of the hutch, so they can still see each other but not take chunks out ears, backsides etc. The boys have always bonded again very quickly once home, but it's something I never thought of when I started. Most boys are fine, just the odd couple pow-pow.

Oh, and the other thing :)) you have to learn to say "So sorry, but we are full"

Good luck with your business - I love having all the piggies to stay, some you will not want to let go home x)

Hiya LordBernieBouffant, now you mention it, I guess it makes sense that a new environment (assuming the boarders are using one of my cages and not their own) might trigger renewed dominance behaviour.

Thankfully, we have loads of C&C grids, so I'm sure we could fashion a clever anti-fighting device quite quickly....:))

I can't wait til the day I have to say "so sorry but we are full".....roll on the first boarder!

Thanks for the tips, Tracey x

Really hope it goes well. Definitely a need. Do a fur mite / lice check when they arrive, just in case! Good luck :)

hiya CPhill. Yeah, I was planning to do a very quick visual check of skin, eyes, ears, etc...I did initially put that on my advert, but then I removed it cos I thought it sounded a bit high-and-mighty and patronising when it was written down.....hehe!.....but I'll be doing it anyway! :))

Well done getting so organised with this so quickly - it's great how fast you have moved with this!

I live near Stourbridge and don't drive - so the pick up/drop off part would suit me down to the ground - but afraid I have a hamster and Leo bunny too - and need them to go to the same boarding hotel.

I work at Stourbridge College so if you want me to put a leaflet up I can? Got friends who work at Dudley college and Sandwell council - Tipton way they might be able to spread the word? Maybe see if local paper or Express and Star might run a feature?

I'd say do get a website - people like to see the cages/find out about you:) have a look at the pet hotel in Kidderminster - Mollie there has a detailed website, know she won't mind you looking - won't put a link as not sure if I can as don't want it to be seen as advertising? I totally trust Mollie and the care she gives the gang when we are away - I'd get customers to give feedback and put photos of guineas who have stayed as it's great to see cute guineas!

I provide an info sheet for my gang with their daily routine and fave foods/vets details - know some boarding places email customers forms to fill in.

I don't know how to put ads on FB - but if I can add a link let me know and I'll pm you my FB link.

Good luck:)
