Hubby brought vacuum packed sweetcorn by mistake for the pigs. I am aware that guinea pigs can't eat cooked veg but does anyone know if vacuum packed sweetcorn is cooked or raw? I can't tell although it does feel softer than the sweetcorn they normally have.

Does it say on the packet? I would have thought it should say if it is cooked or not ?/ I've always assumed it's raw too, but never really thought about it.

To be honest, I don't think it would cause them any harm if it is steamed, it just won't have all the nutritional properties that it would if it was raw. I'm sure I've fed mine vacuum packed sweetcorn before.

No, it just says a delicious selection of fresh vegetable options which doesn't really help.

I'm guessing it won't do them any harm and as they only have one at a time shared between four (along with a selection of other veg) it isn't like they'll be eating loads of it.

How strange...you would have thought it would say if it was cooked or not :{
Yeah, I think it should be ok for them to eat. As you say, they won't be eating loads of it.

I think there's usually a small amount of brine in there so I wouldn't...eat them yourself drool
