As a staple, the pigs get unlimited timothy hay, but I would like to mix it up with some other varieties of hay (especially since they are constantly wheeking for treats!) What varieties of hay do you give? We've given small alfalfa cubes as well, but I know too much alfafa is not good for adult piggies. Does anyone have any suggestions?

You could have a look at this website as they do lots of tasty hay.

They also do sample bags so you could buy that and see what your piggys like the best. :)

My boys like all the oxbow hay, burns hay and the alfalfa king timothy hay, you can get this one in p@h and i think its £7.99 a bag. Seems pricey but its great quality and very green, a big hit with my boys.

:)

The sample bags are a really good way of finding out what they like.
Here's Spike and Stripes (RIP) doing the taste test. :))
Our friend was here at the time and he was convinced it wasn't a fair test as one of the bowls was blue!

I got mine yesterday and it looks a bit like straw :{
Shouldn't hay be green? lol

I was considering it, but was concerned about the quality. I use Oxbow and you can't get much greener although you do pay for it!

Wheeking piggies 'it's because we're worth it' :))

I've got five bags to get through! Hope they're not all the same, what will I do with five bags of straw? lol

I see you are in Canada Freela, so unlikely you'd be able to try out the hays mentioned earlier.

You *may* be able to get hold of some varieties of Kleenmama's hay, some people in Canada have been able to receive hay and pellets despite the fact it has to go through Customs. KMs Hayloft has a reputation for having hay that is even better than Oxbow.

This is the first I have heard of this. If you are disatisfied with your purchase then please contact us and we will do what we can to rectify it. Although straw is usually a golden yellow which this hay most definitely is not. We sell an average 200 bags of this a week without complaint so are suprised by your comment.

This product is NOT straw. Can you please take a photo so we can see. If you have a problem it would be nice if you would contact us direct to give us the opportunity to put things right if there is a problem with the product, rather than complaining about it first on a public forum where I have only found this because someone kindly let me knowmallethead

Sorry you feel this way, but I feel that I have the right to express an opinion on something.
Unfortunately I can't take a picture of it as I've donated it to a local rabbit rescue near to me.
Overall I was very happy with the service from animal magic, I just wasn't impressed by the quality of the dust free hay which I did not think would reflect on you in any way.
Sorry for any bad feeling caused, and I plan on ordering from you in the near future.
lisa.

Of course you have the right to an opinion - I guess I just find it odd that you chose to air that opinion on a public forum rather than trying to rectify your disatisfaction of the product with the company you bought it from.

Hopefully the buns at the rescue will like it :)
