Are there any widely available dry vegan pig foods? I have looked but have been unable to find any.

No, all the ones I've found contain D3 which until very recently has only been available from animal sources (sheeps wool).
Maybe do some research on those. Whats your reason for wanting vegan only? Just asking out of interest, its all personal opinion i suppose.

Guinea pigs can live off good quality hay and vegetables without the need for commecial diet so long as they are getting enough vitamin C in there diet. You could always do this until you have reasearched into the commercial foods.

Do you mind if there is oyster chalk in the dry food?
I don't think you quite understand the concept of vegan! but I'm assuming no as oysters were once alive. I don't like to give my chickies food with oyster shell in, but they need it for calcium for their eggs...for piggies I'm not sure why they'd need it?
It is the best absorbable calcium that exists.
Therefore, part of the lime is added in this way.
If you work out a food without D3, they will need an alternative source of this vitamin. I'm assuming that, like us, they generate their own in sunlight and so indoor piggies would become deficient. But that said there's the whole fur coat thing?
I've got a burning question I keep thinking about. If you're vegan and you provide a home for ex battery hens do you have to throw away any eggs they produce?

Just a quick 'well done' to you Lettuce head for being a strict vegan.
Thank you. Really though, it's not difficult or a hardship in any way, though I understand it can be hard to become vegan in the first place, it's a seemingly big change.
BTW - I'm not strict at all, pretty chilled out really![]()
I'm a strict vegetarian, and that's a piece of cake, because it's something that I believe in.
I think strict vegetarian is a term used for someone that eats a vegan diet, I don't get the use of the term strict myself, people don't say they're strict non smokers etc. You either are or you aren't.
Lettucehead, do I know you from another forum? You just remind me of another vegan I know. I have the same username on vegan forums etc.
