Are you supposed to feed the piggies vegetables daily? I'm so confused because it says on some websites to feed them daily, and on others it says twice a week. They're on cucumber, broccoli spears and carrots daily and get dandelion leaves, apple and banana once evey week. Is this ok?

I feed my lot once or twice a day with veggies and i think most do on here, tho i cant say. Hopefully people will let you know. I think its good for them to be fed daily with veg, keeps their vitamins and mineral up and makes meal times much more intresting. And i dont think i could live without opening the fridge at dinner time to the sounds of wheeking piggies.

x.

i feed mine fresh veg every day like you but have notice now they dont seem to be eating alot of it so what i am going to do his give it to them every other day but they still have nuggets and hay every day plus go on the grass mine are 2 years old so its prop bit like us we prop get tired of veg every day but i do vary it

I don't think I'd hear the end of it if my gang didn't get veggies every day! :))

They get a mix of veggies and salads (often depending on what's on offer)

I started to give veg twice a day then I thought I was giving them too much so went to once a day and they stopped putting on as much weight as before so I went back to twice a day everyday.

I also now cut some grass for them as well - as sadly bad weather and lots of working days has prevented me from putting them out on my lawn. If I now forget to give them some cut grass they wheek at me really loudly to remind me that I have forgotten something rolleyes:))

I have 4 pigs and they have a cupful of veg a day per pig. What I do is spit the amount up so that they have veggies for breakfast and at teatime :)

i feed my two twice a day, once in the morning before i go to work then again at bedtime.

I give mine veggies everyday, but I give them once a day rather than twice. The reason for this is Thumper is quite a small piggy and he seems to be gaining weight better with once a day feedings! I was also finding them more fussy when feeding twice a day, now there is not a pick left on the bowl when they're done :)

Generally I don't feed my pigs veggies every day, but they usually get them every couple of days. With 9 pigs, veggies every day isn't always possible due to the sheer amount of it we'd have to be buying to give it to them daily. But they get fresh grass daily and dandelion leaves and stuff.

They have unlimited hay and pretty much unlimited pellets (with 7 pigs in the herd they just have 4 bowls that never go empty). Bless them, my pigs now get excited over their fresh hay boxes. I decided to give litter trays full of hay a go and it's gone down really well! They get the normal hay that we bed them on and it's sprinkled with a very generous helping of the 'posh stuff' (Timothy, Excel herbages, etc) and they love that. They're emptying two litter trays a day plus eating their bedding. Even with veggies put in some of the girls are going for the hay first! :O

Mine get veggies 3x a day - morning, dinner time and then a 'snack' last thing at night, plus unlimited hay etc. They get exceedingly cross if their favourite leaves are not on offer, and will just wheek until something they prefer goes down!

I give my piggies quite a beefy amount of veggies in the morning every day, and they have usually eaten it by night time, and then I take out all the peels to stop it from rotting.

Of course, if you're piggies eat all the food very quickly, you could always give them some more later on. It's up to you. :)

Although, you'll soon find out if they are having to much, as they will get diarrhea. And then, just lay off the veggies for a day or to, until the diarrhea has gone, and start giving them veggies again (but less than before, or they will get diarrhea again!).

Hope this helps x

I give my piggies vegetables twice a day when I am at work. They get curly kale, spring cabbage or broccoli in the morning, enough to keep them going until I get home. Then it's organic carrots. (Organic because Gertie Pig (RIP) was a hughe fuss pot with food).

I make sure they get plenty of hay too. xx

That sounds okay to me, though I give mine veggies everyday.
They get a megsa selection, as we grow alot of things, usually it;s about 4 veggies a day. Sometimes more, if I'm feeling they need a treat hehe!

Mine get vegetables every single night as well. I spend a lot on vegetables since I have 10 pigs, but it's worth it as I believe that every animals should be getting raw and fresh natural foods to survive.

Yes i give veggies everyday, i try to vary, but i'm a little restricted with some things as i can't give fruits (Velvet diabetic) :) plus they do get extra handful of hay sometimes a couple of times a day!

every weekend my pigs get veg twice a day and two top ups of hay and a refill of pellets every night. i would love to give my piggies veg in the morn on a weekday but there is nno time before school so every weekday they get a top up of hay a night pellets a night and lots of veggies !

Mine get their veg twice daily - always a small portion per piggy - and a 'tidbit' of a small piece of cucumber and celery at night to make sure that everypig is back in the cage for the night.

Mine get their veggies twice a day and I'd never hear the end of it if they didn't. Beanbag can hear the fridge door from the bedroom :))

Mine get veggies once a day! in the winter, they have it with their dinner at night, in the summer(like today) i was it in ice water so their nice and cold and they have them at lunch time x

I feed my single piggy 1 cup of veggies each day in one session but when
I have bonded will feed with another piggy they'll get one cup in the morning and one in the evening.
