Hello!

I'm a brand new pig mum (yay!) But I'm also a worrier (not yay!). I'm completely overthinking the veggie side of things to the point of confusion, everyone I talk to says different on feeding veg (every day, every other day) and it's all sending me round the bend. I wish I could have a little book written by my pigs to tell me what they want but they can't write...

I was wondering really if a little salad box would be a good idea. So I could fill a cake tin with a mix of veggies and then scoop out a mixture of a few veggies for every meal?
They're about 3-4 weeks old at the moment so I've got them on unlimited hay (obviously) and then I've got a bowl of pellets that they can nibble on all day. I just thought a salad box might make it easier for me to stop overthinking and it'd help use up all the veg but if it's not a good idea then I won't do it!

It would only have veggies they could have every day as per the sticky thread and I'd give them the other stuff as treats and decrease the amount of veg for that day depending on how many treats they get. I also didn't know if it was a cup or 1/2 cup per piggy a day :)

I've seen a lot of feeding regimes here and it's settling me a bit so thanks for that, I just want to make sure Florence and Lola are getting the best :)

The thread linked above is what I followed as like you, I was so confused over all the different info.

It's confusing at first but you get used to it.

We feed ours this roughly per pig
Morning:
Cucumber 2 x (2cmx2cm cubes)
Celery half a stick slicedup
1/6th of Red/Green/Yellow Bell Pepper (de-seeded)

Evening:
Cucumber 2 x (2cmx2cm cubes)
Two Little Gem Lettuce leaves or 10 sprigs Coriander. Twice a week we will swap in cabbage or parsley

We also add in to the above diet carrot, sweet potato, celery leaves and a few other things occasionally
.
Just keep trying lots of different foods, stick to the half a cup per breakfast and half a cup tea per pig and you won't go far wrong

I'd be wary of making a chopped salad. Veg starts to degrade once you start to chop it up. We all get into a routine of feeding. I give mine a little bit of 3 or 4 veg twice a day so effectively they get a bit of a mixed salad but I prepare it fresh for each meal.
The links above are great for helping you work out which veg to feed and in what quantities.

Thank you, I don't know why I'm overthinking it so much! They're obsessed with curly kale but I think that's something you have to give them every now and again? And we're working on what they like, so far they hate pepper and green cabbage and like watercress and coriander. They've nibble tiny bits or carrot but haven't finished any and they only like the dark green bit on the cucumber. I'm starting to think they're just really into leafy things rather than chunks. They'll actually forage around and finish all the kale before they start on anything else so maybe I can find something similar that they can have every day. I'll try them on some celery :)

We give our 2 a varied mix twice a day.

1 grape each, 1 blueberry each, a slice of carrot, slice of celery, cucumber, kale, spinach, coriander, parsley, mixed salad leaves, peashoots, pepper.

I'm going to try all of this! I'm having problems with one of the girls because she's become really scared and hides in her hay which means the other is getting all the veggies. Hopefully she'll come out soon, I've been putting some veggies in the hay for her so we will see!

Hettie still barges her way to the front of the veggie bowl, they both like to hide under the bridge when eating so I have taken to splitting the food into 2 bowls and putting one either end of the bridge so Colin gets his fair share too!
