My boars will not touch veggies. I’ve tried leaving some in the cage overnight, putting them in with the hay and pellets, and in their forage box, but they won’t touch anything. They didn’t eat veggies in their old home, and now they’re teenagers, so I’m scared they won’t ever like vegetables. What else can I do to make them eat veggies?

Maybe your piggies are adjusting to living somewhere else. maybe try givivng to them in different ways/portions. If its still continues afer 2-4 weeks go and seea vet

Lara didn’t eat veggies when she came home with me from a friend who didn’t want her. Lara’s veggies dried up in her food dish. She never had veggies when she lived with a friend and she had hard time getting used to eating veggies three times a day. My boy Finn always got veggies three times a day so I treated Lara the same way.

Currently, Lara takes well to eating veggies three times a day, and she particularly likes romaine lettuce. She gets different types of fruit throughout the week as well.

From my experience, I would continue to give veggies even though they dry up in the food dish, which was my case with Lara. They will eventually prefer veggies over other food.

Piggies learn from their elders what is safe to eat and what isn't. If your piggies have never had veg before they won't know it's food. Put a little bit in their cage each night. Start off with not much variety first of all so you don't upset tummies. Then when they have got used to that particular piece of veg introduce another and so on. Try them with a bit of pepper first as mine go nuts for pepper. Any colour is fine. Put 2 bits in every day and eventually they will try it. Give them lots of praise when they do eat it. It may take a while to give them a full range of veggies but perseverance and patience is what is needed.
